#5 The Happening

Seeing M. Night’s latest as only my 5th most anticipated film of the year should surely indicate that this summer was designed for me. I’m not among those who feel like Shammy has lost the touch, I considered “Lady in the Water” to be an amazing piece of work. The only reason he is down this low is that somehow there are 4 other movies that I’m even more excited to see. The degree of seperation between 5 and 1 this summer is very small. It’s almost as if there are five movies that tie for most anticipated film for me, all five of which puch my anticipation meter to the breaking point. It’s quite a summer in store for us. As for this individual film, the trailer absolutely captivated me. I think Mark Wahlberg is a great actor and the concept looks as compelling and creepy as ever. Night has solidified his place as one of the greatest directors of all time, and I’m on board to experience his visions wherever they lead.

I know you’ve been instructed otherwise, but you can trust me, #4 is out there next.

  1. This was a very freaky movie. One of M. Knight’s best. I love his style in The Village and Lady in the Water. This new film draws from his experience of story telling and letting the viewer put the pieces together to guess the ending, while not actually giving it away. Again, one of Kight’s best films. Definitly a must see for mystery lovers and suspence goers.
