Dice’s Favorite 41 Movies of All Time
(These are, in order, the 41 movies I enjoy, respect, desire, and love the most that I have ever seen.)

This is my favorite list to update every year and get feedback on. I would love to hear what you think of my choices and what you think I missed (and what it should replace). There is an obvious love for Hitchcock, Pixar, and M. Night here, but that’s what makes it my list. The marking to the right of each selection indicates it’s movement from last year.

  1. We continue to advocate for Hoosiers on a yearly basis. I can understand if it doesn’t make your top 41, but not even an honorable mention? Come on, bro! Show Hickory some love.

  2. I hate to offend the patriarch of our family, but What About Bob? is replaceable in my book. If you don’t want to offend the grandfather of your children, Aladin would be my second choice. There are plenty of similiar movies on your list and it isn’t at the top of my favorite Disney movies (and believe me, we watch PLENTY of princess movies).

  3. Things I tell people:

    – 40 is the Biblical number for completeness, so the list is more than complete.

    – 42 is the answer to Life, The Universe, and Everything, so 41 is an admission that the list is still human and fallible.

    – 41 is the sexiest prime number in existence.

    The Truth:

    – It was basketball jersey number and I’ve been fond of it ever since.

  4. I can’t believe that “What About Bob” only makes HM. It is a comedy classic with great name actors, a wonderful story line, and a solid message about family and what’s really important. Besides It makes me laugh.
