If you can get past not connecting deeply with any of the characters, you will have quite a fun time in this dark and unnerving world.
The Underdoggs (Movie Review)
This could have been a train wreck, but at least it is a passable underdog story
The Promised Land (Movie Review)
Depth and darkness shroud this story, but it is the heart at the core that makes it feel special.
Night Swim (Movie Review)
It will probably get some horror fans into the theater opening weekend, but it will most certainly not be getting the buzz you would hope
THE SHORT LIST (January 2024)
Each month, I treat you to a collection of short films. Hopefully this list will inspire you to check out some of these gems…
Memory (Movie Review)
This cast, led by Chastain and Sarsgaard, anchor the film in authenticity and raw emotion that makes it an impactful and poignant emotional journey
The Holdovers (Movie Review)
Technically impressive, acted to the maximum, and chock-full of resonance, make sure to seek out this period drama as soon as you can
Migration (Movie Review)
It turns out Illumination can bring fun without any little minions around.
The Boys in the Boat (Movie Review)
This was a story worthy of being told, and one that we could use right now, even if it is a little too old school in its execution.
The Cello (Movie Review)
Overlong and underwhelming, this Saudi horror just doesn’t have the bite.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (Movie Review)
Aardman still has it, and hopefully it is not another 20-plus years until another adventure with our favorite avian friends.
