Freshly vaccinated Frank here to review Nobody starring Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show With Bob and David) and from Derek Kolstan (writer of John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum) so you can see where this movie is getting it’s legs from. One could say it’s the same movie with a different actor, and on the surface I would agree. Somehow with Bob Odenkirk as Nobody the movie just sings for me.

Hutch Mansell is just your average Joe, living day to day as a struggling everyday man until a simple break-in of his home wakes up the sleeping killer underneath, and he goes on a one-man army crusade to get back a kitty cat bracelet. Yes, I know what that sounds like but trust me.

This film had a lead actor that has established that he can do both drama and comedy and a writer who knows how to write entertaining action. The last leg to complete the tripod that it needed was found in director Ilya Naishuller, who directed Hardcore Henry. (If you don’t know that movie, you seriously are sleeping on it and need to go check it out A.S.A.P.)

(Seriously. I’ll wait)

(Did you go watch it?)

(Great)

Now that you’ve seen Hardcore Henry, you can totally see that this was a dream team of creative people for Nobody. This film is exactly what it set out to do and it delivers. The balance between humor and action in the movie are just absolutely pitch perfect. Is this movie for everyone? Absolutely not, and to say any movie is would be an injustice. But if you’re someone who loves a good action flick, then I have some great news for you. Go out to the theater and see it if you’re able to do in a safe environment. It is a shame that it got released when it did, because this one would have been a hit with a strong word of mouth. Luckily there’s me. SiftPop’s biggest loudmouth to tell you to see this movie as soon as you can.

Until next time!
